INSTALL OFFICE DIRECTIONS/PLATES AT MEDICAL LABORATORY DEPARTMENT BLOCK & ADMIN BLOCK OF RASHEED SHEKONI
SPECIALIST HOSPITAL, DUTSE JIGAWA STATE NIGERIA.
INTRODUCTION:
This is an aspect of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Nigeria where youths who graduated from various institutions of higher learning serve their father land for one year. in the course of the execution of this project the NYSC officials gave their consent as the Hospital management who supported financially. OFFICE DOOR SIGNS:
Door label is a piece of paper,
polymer, Acrylic, High-density polyethylene (HDPE), High-density polyurethane, Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, Styrene, and other
thermoplastics, Medium density overlay panels, Oilcloth, Modular Curved Frame Technology, Corflute (Corrugated Plastic), cloth,
metal, or other material affixed to the
office door or above the office door or block, on which is printed information
about the office or building.
The main purpose of signs is to
communicate, to convey information such that the receiver may make cognitive
decisions based on the information provided. In general, signs may be
classified according to the following functions:
Information: signs
conveying information about services and facilities, such as maps, directories,
or instructional signs.
Direction: signs showing
the location of services, facilities, functional spaces and key areas, such as
sign posts or directional arrows.
Identification: signs
indicating services and facilities, such as room names and numbers, restroom
signs, or floor designations.
Safety and Regulatory: signs
giving warning or safety instructions, such as warning signs, traffic signs, exit
signs, or signs
conveying rules and regulations.
USES: the itemized uses of door labels or signs are as listed below:-

STATEMENT OF NEED
This personal Community Development Service (CDS) is aimed at
installing high quality office directions or name plates on and above the
entrances of every administrative/clinic head offices within the administrative
block and at medical laboratory departments.
This is to ensure that my
service(s) is not only confined to laboratory work and call duties. But also to
contribute to the lives of citizens and/or patients who intends to visit any
administrative/clinic Head office as I have in so many occasions being asked
for directions by individuals going into the administrative block of the
hospital.
PROJECT APPROVAL: this project has been approved by the hospital
authority and will be funded by same.
DURATION OF WORK: the work lasted for two months and installation done in the month of August, 2014.
